My
Cancer Trek
aka
The Tokyo Roast

On 11/10/06, at age 59,  I found that I had       prostate cancer.
As the most common cancer in men, it kills 15% of those who get it.
My case, a most uncommon one, led me to Tokyo.
I hope my story can help others.

Thank You and Coming Home

In a few hours we head to the airport.  We will leave here with many fond memories.

Thank you to those of you who followed the BLOG.  Betweem 60 and 90 friends, family, and men with prostate cancer read each entry.  The numbers of readers on all the entries is continuing to increase daily.  Many of you sent emails and some who weren't so shy, commented directly on the BLOG.  I have not yet had time to respond to all of you, but I will.

Selfishly, it has been very therapeutic for me to write the BLOG and read your emails.  Thanks for your encouragement.

I want to thank Dr. Ushida, Yuki (my operating room angel), and all of the staff at Tokai University Hachioji Hospital.

I would like to thank Ali, Earl, Don and the many others in Tampa who helped with resources, information, and support.

A special thanks goes to Margie, Emi, and their families in Japan who made Tokyo feel like home away from home.

Finally, my biggest thank you goes to Mary Anne, my wife, who has been by my side throughout.  There is really no way I can express how much that has meant to me.

I will continue the BLOG for those who are seeking information on prostate cancer treatment after-effects.  Entries will, however, be much less frequent.

We now need to get back to our normal lives.
