My
Cancer Trek
aka
The Tokyo Roast

On 11/10/06, at age 59,  I found that I had       prostate cancer.
As the most common cancer in men, it kills 15% of those who get it.
My case, a most uncommon one, led me to Tokyo.
I hope my story can help others.

Recovery at Home - BLOG Resumption

This entry was posted on 3/31/2007 6:44 PM and is filed under Recovery.

Since my last entry upon leaving Japan, I have had several requests to continue the BLOG.  The original purpose was to keep friends and family updated while we were overseas for the operation.  Readership expanded quickly, however, and the BLOG also became an information tool for men with prostate cancer.  For these men, knowing more about the recovery period is as important as any other part of the process.  For this reason, I will resume making entries.  I have been personally journalling on my progress and I will begin putting that information on-line.

WARNING TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY:  Entries from this point on are designed to be helpful to those who are interested in the physical and emotional aspects of recovery.  They will deal very openly with the side effects of prostate cancer treatment, like impotency and incontinence.  If you are a family member or friend who does not care to know or be involved in such intimate details,  then do not read the next few entries.

You can check back at a future time when I am more fully recovered and see if there is another area that this BLOG is covering that interests you.
