My
Cancer Trek
aka
The Tokyo Roast

On 11/10/06, at age 59,  I found that I had       prostate cancer.
As the most common cancer in men, it kills 15% of those who get it.
My case, a most uncommon one, led me to Tokyo.
I hope my story can help others.

Each Day – Better

I’m now in the fifth day since the catheter came out.  My urine flow has stayed strong with no signs of blockage.  I am so thrilled about that I could just pee in my pants.  Oh, I did, whoops.

I still have some leakage problems but it is getting better each day.  There are more motions I can do without a leak and more often than not a slight cough or laughter is no longer causing a problem.  Part of it is that I have become conscious of the things that bring on the drips so I can purposely tighten muscles.  That is often successful.

It is a little embarrassing but I had been wearing depends to bed at night.  A really silly sight indeed.  No, we didn’t take pictures!  I took a chance and went without last night and I was OK.

Every day seems to be a step forward.  I never thought I would have such an appreciation for normalcy.
